Home

Home is a place where memories are made: the laughter, the tears, it all came from here. When I think of home I imagine my family, the comfort I feel when I get home after a long day, I think of the Christmas tree my family and I decorate every year, the kitchen turned upside down after my sister and I carved our pumpkins and made a mess. I also still remember the smell of flowers blooming in early spring right after the last snow has melted. I remember watching the Sun eclipse from my backyard in April of 2024, how it all got dark just for a couple of minutes and then went back to normal. I think of my family and I moving into my home when I was just one year old and already curious to find out all the mysteries of my new living space. I can also recall the time when I forgot to put my equipment on when I went biking and ended up sobbing on my front porch with my mom comforting me after I fell face first into the ground. I can still see the tree outside of my window moving along with the wind. I remember when I decided to eat a dandelion from my front yard and instantly regretted it. When I say the word home, I think of all the things that I have experienced in the house that I have a certain attachment to that gives me all the reasons to call it my home. It is my safe space, the place where I know I'm always welcome.
