Home and Homelessness

Home, A place to rest. Home, A place to dream. Home, A place I can be me. Home, A place where I have my loving family. Home, Which holds up as strong as the Rocky mountains. Home, Where I work on projects with my friends. Homelessness, When you live paycheck-to-paycheck. Homelessness, When you subway-surf just to avoid the cold. Homelessness, When it feels like you are stuck in a black hole so big there is seemingly no escape. Homelessness, Where simple needs like food is not in the dictionary. Homelessness, When even a tiny home is the sun your thoughts orbit. Homelessness, Where the amount of rest is similar to the amount of life in a barren Arctic tundra. Home. Homelessness. It is amazing how big antonyms could change your life, and I am grateful for Habitat for Humanity to help people be on the good side of that antonym.
