The Place That Always Awaits Me
The Place That Always Awaits Me
When I moved here, I was almost three
I wandered around like I needed to pee
I was so excited to think of my life here
Being on Chemin Dunsmuir
I walked into construction
With my brain feeling eruption
All of my things were still in production
Soon my brother was born
After my mom ate lots of corn
My house started to feel less lonely
Now that I was here with my homie
My mom hosted parties
She served lots of smarties
Our hearts were filled with so many memories
My house is my guider, my supporter and my protector
It knows everything about me
It doesn’t need a detector
I dream here and I pray here everyday
My brother and I love to play
We also fight…by the way
But we learn to forgive so that’s OK
I’m only in grade 4, going to 5 and to 6
But even in grade 8 or 12, this house will be my fix
This is a safe place for me to have my journey
My home is the place where I don’t have to worry
