More Than Four Walls

Every time I step into my home, a beautiful whiff of love fills the room. My dog always greets me at the door with her glassy eyes shimmering with delight. Her soft fur rubbing against my legs, her warm breath filling the air. I instantly feel at home. Picture frames filled with joyous memories stand out against the safe walls of home. A warm blanket is waiting for me on the snug couch. When I curl up into the soft blanket, my cat cuddles beside me, purring like an engine. Her cute whiskered face rubbing against mine. I feel guarded and safe right away. Everyday a delicious homecooked meal , put together piece by piece, awaits me on the neat brown table. But it's not just about the food, it's about spending time with family. Even the plainest of homes will shine with memories. Even a silent home screams the past. Your home will shelter you from the cold and the heat, the rain and the shine. Your home will shelter you from the world. You can gaze up at the stunning stars in the night sky, while still tucked in the safety of your bedroom. You picture colours and peace of mind, while the roof over your head protects you while you dream. A home is not just wood and nails. A home is not just appliances and furniture. A home is a place to go when you have a bad day. A home is where you laugh and cry. Everyone deserves a home, because nobody should be left with nowhere to go, no place to remind you of all the good times. Home signifies a feeling of comfort and safety. It's a place to seek refuge and experience love and joy. Home is where I belong.
