What Does Home Mean to Me?

For me, the meaning of home is not just a building. It is a place where I go when I want to get away from the cold. It is a place where I sleep and dream about good things. It is a place where I can watch movies and play board games during family time. It is where I can do whatever I want to do. It is where I eat food that my family made with love. When I am done with the day, whether I went to school or I went outside to spend time with my family, we go home to rest from the whole day. When my mom or dad calls us for dinner, I see the yummy food on our dining table. At our dining table, we talked about many things. My home is my safe place. Whenever I sleep, I feel happy as I dream along. When I feel sick, my home protects me from getting all the people outside sick. When I’m alone, my home protects me from bad people. My home stores many good memories. Like when me and my family went to the Calgary Tower and to Banff. Also when we went to the Muttart Conservatory and the Alberta Legislature. I felt happy with all those memories especially when we went to the Royal Alberta Museum and Rogers Place. I really enjoyed all of it. It’s also not just my home I’m happy about, it’s the people who are in it. My mom makes my home feel a lot special by baking delicious food for us and teaches me special things. My dad makes this home so special by saying jokes and doing funny things. Home is where all hearts are. I hope that people who are having a hard time may find a home through Habitat for Humanity. Those people deserve care and love. I hope that a local Habitat for Humanity community will get some money through this essay.
