Habitat for Humanity Essay Contest - Writing about Home

Habitat for Humanity Essay Contest - Writing about Home Written By: Lily Wuitchik Habitat for Humanity is a world wide community that helps families in need of a proper shelter and a secure place to live. They find volunteers like you and I to help build homes for families. Their plan is to help people all across the world find a pleasant home. Habitat for Humanity has helped millions (over 46 million) of families all across the globe (70 countries) since 1976. The work they do is important because they help people who cannot afford a house have a space to feel safe and comfortable. In my essay, I will discuss Habitat for Humanity and what they do, and explain my wonderful and loving home. The main reason I love my home is because my family is there to make it even better. We recently moved to Redcliff from Medicine Hat and I feel that our new house is more connected to us, and we will be able to have a lot more memories here. I have already made so many memories like Christmas morning and would love to make more memories here. I love my home because it is my safe place to feel free and express myself. My home is full of laughter and fun as me and my family love to live in it. I find it my favourite place in the world. We enjoy playing games like Fortnite and with our toys such as model horses. I am happy with my house and it could not be more perfect because it has all of my life in it. My home is what protects me from the outside world when life becomes hard, it is what protects me and keeps me safe. In conclusion, I hope everyone in this big world has a house to call home. I believe Habitat for Humanity can change the world to be a better place, and help people find a loving home to call their own. Everyone deserves to have somewhere safe to hide if they are scared or just need to be alone.
