Habitat for Humanity Essay Contest - Writing about Home Written By: Zayda Sonnleitner In this essay, I will discuss Habitat for Humanity and what they do and explain why my home is important to me. I am really glad they're helping people that need help. It is really good that strangers all gather around to build houses for people that need it and they are probably really grateful for the people that help everyone with poor living conditions so im glad that this exists. They have helped over 62 million people in need across the world. They also built over 800,000 homes and it has been operating in 70 countries. They started it in 1976. My home is nice. I have a loving family that really cares about me and I also care about them so much, they also give me a loving home to stay at. They allow us to have family pets like our two dogs. I'm also really comfortable in my house because when I'm at home I know I can be myself without getting judged for who I am. It's also comfortable because I can wear pjs whenever I want, at home. I'm also really glad I have a home because in my room I can make many crafts to customize my room to how I want it to look like, I can add all the drawings that I make to my walls, I can add any design I want it to have. I think that everyone deserves to have a safe, comfortable, and loving home where they can be themselves and enjoy the things that they want to enjoy. That's why I'm happy that Habitat for Humanity builds houses for people so they have a place that they can call home. That is why I'm so grateful for them to be helping others that need a home.
