Habitat for Humanity Essay Contest - Writing about Home Written By: Bailey Perrault Habitat for Humanity is a community of people that volunteers just like you and I to help build houses and new memories for families and people in need of one. Their work is important because they build homes for people. In this essay I will talk about Habitat and Humanity and what home is to me. Home is important to me because it is somewhere you can feel safe and be yourself. When I'm home I have a quiet space to make memories, and to feel safe. The reason I feel secure at home is because I am with my family. I also feel safe because it's a surrounding I am used to. I feel really safe in my room because I am familiar with my surroundings and I get to put my stuff where I want to put it. Another reason why home is important to me is because I have food and snacks to eat when I'm hungry so I am not starving. I am grateful for the snacks I have. My favorite snack I have at home is popcorn. At the end of the day my family eats dinner together. I also like home because I feel comfortable. I am cozy at home because I'm more secure to my surroundings and my family. When I'm home I also have a comfy spot to go to, my bedroom. I love that I have a place to rest and feel warm. Home is very important to you and I. And these are just a few reasons why home is important to me. I am so grateful that I have a home to feel safe in, snacks, and a home that is comfy.
