Habitat for Humanity
Essay Contest - Writing about Home
Written By: Faith Dalke
Habitat for Humanity helps people with no safe place to go and live. I did not know about this organization before so it was cool learning about it. In this essay I will talk more about Habitat for Humanity and what I have learned while researching. I wish I knew about this organization before.
There is no place like home. The reason I feel this way is because I have freedom in my home but it really breaks my heart to see people who do not have a safe place to live. Home is a feeling. A house is a noun. Home can also be at a friend's house or a family member's house.
A man’s home is his castle. Community is important because you can help people. Community is also important because otherwise Habitat for Humanity would not be able to help people with no safe place to stay. It takes a village.
I like my house because it is customizable and pretty and I can make paintings and decorate my room with wall stickers and can lay comfortably in my bed which is soft. I can have snuggles and be safe and pet my dog, lay on the couch and watch TV which makes me happy.
I like helping people and I want to help support Habitat for Humanity and help other people who need it. It makes me really happy helping people so even if I do not win this essay contest, I am still donating $10 to an awesome organization. My class will be raising $190 for Habitat for Humanity because I have 19 students in my class - this makes me happy and proud. I like supporting things like this and helping my community. So people can now live comfortably. Thank you Habitat for Humanity for this opportunity and all that you do.
