Habitat for Humanity Essay Contest - Writing about Home Written By: Casey Craats In this essay I will be talking about Habitat For Humanity and my home. So far I have learned that Habitat for Humanity builds homes for those that do not have homes or much money. They make owning the home affordable for families and I think that is pretty cool. My home is special to me because it holds lots of memories. I have lived in my house for four years now and there are many things I love about it. One of the main reasons I love my home is my family that lives there. At home I have my mom, my dad, and my sister. We like to play board games together like Uno. We sit together to enjoy our meals and talk about our day. Another favourite thing about home to me is the memories I have made there. Some of my favorite memories include playing baseball in my backyard with my friend who has now moved away, making our playdates some of my greatest memories. I play baseball with my family a lot too. I am very lucky to have such a backyard that I can enjoy playing sports in and making new memories year round. Finally another thing that makes home so special is it is a safe place to rest. At home I feel safe and secure, living in a safe community makes me feel very fortunate. In conclusion I learned Habitat for Humanity builds homes for people that need, just like mine. I also learned that the people still need to pay for how much people are going to live in the house.
