Habitat for Humanity Essay Contest - Writing about Home Written By: Lucas Cocks Habitat for Humanity helps people that don't have homes so they build homes for them and help people live a better life. They all have a kind heart, they have a heart of gold and they make so many people feel happier, they feel like they matter too. I think everyone deserves food and shelter and clothes as well. In this essay I will be talking about my home and Habitat for Humanity. This group of people is so kind and it is so important to help families that don't have homes and a good place to live. My home where I live in Redcliff, Alberta means a lot to me because I have a comfy bed to sleep in and this is where I feel safe. I have warm blankets that keep me warm and I don't ever have to worry about getting cold. Home is a space to play with my dad, my dog and mom. At home I am surrounded by people I love, and there's always good company. There's so much to do and play, and I am never bored there. I also have food and lots of snacks to eat when I'm hungry and I am never starving. We have appliances that allow us to eat home cooked meals everyday. When I see people on the street with no food or shelter I feel so bad. I want to help them but I can't so I hope that Habitat for Humanity can do that for me. I want this to change the world so there are more kind people to help make more families have a home. Whoever started this when I heard about it I really wanted to help others and show how much I care about other people. Hopefully in the future this can grow bigger and help other people everywhere.
