Habitat for Humanity Essay Contest - Writing about Home Written By: Brooklyn Blouin In this essay, I will be writing about Habitat for Humanity and what they do and explain why my homes are so important to me . To me Habitat for Humanity is a great program that gives houses to people that really need it. This organization is a great way to make a person's day, week , month or year! Habitat for humanity gives families a home they feel safe in. Home to me is somewhere I feel safe, happy and where I can be myself. Home makes me cry sad and happy tears. I have been in my home since I was a newborn. There are so many good memories like when my brother was born and brought home. But I have bad ones too like my parents break up and divorce. But anywho, I feel like I really belong in my home. I feel comfortable, loved, cared for, and more importantly my not judged and not ignored. I trust everyone in my home. I can personalize my room, I can live and not survive, I can listen to the music I love. I have lived in about 3 houses with my dad but only one felt like home. The one I live in now. My dad has done so much to make my room how I like it. It is calm and quiet in my home most of the time. Overall Habitat for Humanity gives homes to people who need it. It provides a safe space that people can call home. It is a great way to have ownership. Everyone deserves a place someone can call home.
