Just a Couple of Walls

In your life, you have things you cherish. Right? In your house, you might have a comfy bed, a backyard with a beautiful garden your mom planted. Well, can I tell you a secret? It doesn’t matter. Your house can be big or small, short or maybe tall! Home means having a caring community, a loving family, the feeling of being safe right when you close your door. Habitat for Humanity helps build homes for deserving families that need a safe place to call home like I do. I have a loving neighborhood. They are very kind people and they take care of me, like I was their own daughter and granddaughter to some. They make me happy when I'm sad or excited when I'm bored. Does yours? Mine does. That's half the reason I love my house and the tiny community of mine. I also love my family. They are very supportive, day in and day out. They let me walk around town without worrying, “Thank goodness”. They get me things that I need and maybe sometimes want. They're amazing at cooking, but unfortunately genetics failed me, but they have LOTS of patience in me when I try to cook a meal. When I was two, they got me two kittens and they are turning five on April 1st, also April fools day. Their names are Rocket and Mouse. Mouse hitched a ride in a car ride to Bloomfield when we were in Florida! He also managed to lose his tracker. Rocket is more of a teddy bear. He can snore as loud as my dad! He's also the fatter one, but they're both on a diet. It doesn’t really matter though because they are both very, very cute in all ways possible. Home brings me joy. I always just want to be at home on my couch when I’m at school. Do you know that feeling of missing your house? I do! I moved from Toronto to Wellington, Ontario and I miss it sooooo much! But my new house now feels like home to me now after five years. I wouldn’t trade my house for anything! I feel very safe at my house and around my community. I can walk around town freely. I can play with my friends around town where my parents can’t see and no worrying is involved. My point is, I love my house and it really doesn’t matter if your house is big or small. I hope that every child will have a special place in their heart and they too can live in a safe, happy and wonderful community. Maybe in the mix, dear reader, you have a super amazing house! Thank you Habitat for Humanity for building houses for people. I can't imagine not having a roof over my head!!!!!
