Everyone Needs a Home

Everyone needs a home. Home should be a special place. Living at home makes me feel safe. Home is where I was born and where I have lived. Let me tell you about it. My home is in China. I was born there. I learned to speak Chinese there when I lived there. I spent eight years with my family in China, learning lots and seeing the world. Last year I came to Canada. My home is now in Canada too. At first, I was very scared. I couldn’t speak or write in English, but seeing the kind eyes of my teachers and classmates, I'm not as scared anymore. I learned more English and I can already understand some easy sentences. I will continue to practice my English until I can speak fluently. Animals have homes too. Some animal's homes are in nature or in a habitat. They survive by hunting by themselves and avoiding other predators. Some animals are lucky, but others are not. The very lucky ones live in homes with us. They need us to feed and care for them to survive. I guess the same can be said about people. If someone doesn't have a home, then it's very difficult for them to survive, just like those animals in the wild. We need to help those in need. Habitat for Humanity tries to do that with the amazing work they do to help those who need a home. This shows how important a home is for everyone all around the world. I am so lucky to have two great homes one in China, and the other in Canada. My wish is that those in need can one day have a home that is special for them.
