Home

Home is the sound of my mother laughing, At a cheesy chick flick My Sister, Talking to her Barbies as if they were real, My parents, dancing in the kitchen to a song they used to love. The sound of my fireplace crackling, Even when it's way too hot for a fire. My dog, barking at the mailmen that come by Or even nothing at all Home is the taste of my fathers pasta, And all his homemade soups. The feeling that nothing will ever go wrong again My sister, snuggling me when I’m sad Or when she is. Home is the beach view from my backyard in the summer. My animals waking me up at 5:00 A.M every single morning, Just to say hi. The smell of my dads coffee breath blowing by me This is home.
