My Safe Place

My home is a place where I feel safe, where I don’t have to be scared because I know I’m not alone; my family is there. Doors are locked, windows shut, no one to be afraid of. Safe at home I lie in bed, no scary thoughts running through my head that are trying to put me down, so there I lie looking up to the sky, happy not sad, grateful, and glad to have such a wonderful home. Because it's not just a building with four walls and a roof; it’s a place that holds memories and happiness too. A house may be bought but a home is not. A home is made of love while a house is made of stuff. Home is where I’m warm, where I’m not torn. Where my happiness never fades cause home is my safe place.
