The Place Where Memories Form

Home is not just a roof over your head, it is a place where memories form… After a long, and sometimes snowy, windy or rainy school day, there is no other place like home where my dad greets me and says “how was school?” As I get refreshed, my dad gives me a small platter of delicious snacks on the brown dining table. As I eat my snack, we talk about my amazing school day which I enjoy talking about. I could hear our butterfly clock ticking. At 5:30pm, my mom comes home from work. I feel very happy that she came home because I haven't seen her in a few hours. For this reason, this is a very special moment in my day. I run up to her and say “I miss you.” “I miss you too,” says my mom. After my mom is refreshed, I come up to her and give her a big hug. After that, my parents and I enjoy dinner together. Some days, we have something special like pasta, sandwiches, pani puri or pav bhaji. After dinner, my mom, dad and I go to my parents’ bedroom to watch T.V. shows like The Wheel Of Fortune in Hindi. After that, I go into my room and read a book on my white cozy bed with my favorite bedsheet. The books that I read are usually fictional graphic novels or fictional chapter books. After a long day of having fun and doing work, I lie down on my bed thinking about everything that has happened throughout this day. I sleep peacefully, not knowing what I would be up for the next day. This is a story of a place where memories thrive and shine–home. By: Rihansh
