Home Is in Your Heart

Sometimes I forget what home truly is because it is not a building, a word or something you can just take, it is a FEELING that you just know. For me it is like when I am alone, I feel scared and helpless, like I cannot do anything, but when I am with my FAMILY I feel like I am floating to the moon, with my heart full of hope. Home is a DIFFERENT feeling for everyone. My dad always makes me laugh and smile when I am sad. If I am feeling insecure or have a difficult day I walk down to my home and WISH it all away. When I am upset my family calms me down like a blow of a BIRTHDAY candle. When I was little my dad would put me on his shoulders and it would feel as if I were as tall as a SKYSCRAPER. I used to think life was like a storybook but now I know why it is not because we do not all get a HAPPY ENDING. My family and I are a TEAM. In a home you should never feel unsafe or scared or that you are all the same because you are not. You might CHANGE or grow but a home will always stay the same. Change is like the first snowfall or the last leaf blowing to the ground. Knowing that I can EXPLORE the world by myself and if I fall, my family’s right there beside me, lifting me back up. I might get frustrated at my parents if I do not get it at the start, but I know they are helping and that is all that matters. Your life is like a BOOK, it is complicated, but each page is made with love, remember that. Cherish each page. And do not wait for the last one to turn. By Audrey
