The True Meaning of Home

Some people think home is a house, building or place, but what is the true meaning of home? Is it the place you are? The place you live? No, the true meaning is much deeper than that. When I see my home, it grants a feeling of safety that is unobtainable anywhere else. When I enter, the loud, yet serene sounds in my home fill my ears. As busy as it is, it gives the feeling of peace, that amidst the busyness of the day, there is one busy place where you can be at peace. The sultry and sweet smell of something on the stove encompasses me with the smell of food. It's sweet and homemade, something that you can’t find elsewhere. I run my fingers across the wall, touching the memories that silently stood throughout my life, shaping the way I live. The rich taste of being home is great and is often taken for granted, but in the bitter cold and sweltering heat, home is all we have. Home is the sweet taste that replaces the bitterness in our lives. My couch refreshes me after a long day, granting me refreshment and relaxation as I sit back and sink into its soft body. The food at home is sweet like honey and delicious like food should be. My home is a fortress protecting me from the dangers of the world and the disasters that could happen outside. So home is not a house, building or place, it is a group of people. The people that have stuck with you through the hard times and it can be anyone. Home can be anyplace, as long as the people you love are there. That is the true meaning of Home.
