A House is a House, a Home is a Home

A house is a house, a home is a home A house is a simple thing, four walls, a roof, and a door. A home is not anything like that, it’s so, so much more. A house is anything but exciting, boring walls, boring roof, boring floor, all devoid of warmth and feeling. A home is anything but that, family members happily chatting at the dinner table. Dinner at any ordinary house is boring, maybe bread, maybe potatoes, maybe simple chicken. A home can have exciting deep-fried, barbecued, microwavable chicken. Other times it can be double-cooked, leftover pasta from last night. But the kitchen always smells like a slice of heaven, and when you taste it, it tastes like one too. When you're in a house, it’s… just eerie silence. But when you enter a home, you can hear tons of different sounds, people chatting, your uncle shouting at the hockey match on the tv, dinner cooking, and so much more. When you enter a house you feel… emptiness, sadness, unable to respond. But in a home, you feel happy, comfy, warm, you feel like you belong. In summary, a house is a house, a home is a home.
