What Home Means To Me

My home. My building. There are many ways to call where I live. The best way to call the place you live is 'home.' A home and a house are very different from each other. They may sound alike, but a home is much more than a house. Home is a place of love, happiness, food, games, anything you can think of! My family and I are Chinese, and we have lots of Chinese stuff. We speak Mandarin at home too. I think home means a lot to me because I can feel happy. I have 2 pet turtles and lots of stuffies. I know a quote: “Home is a shelter from storms. All kinds of storms. - William J. Bennet." I think it means that at home, you can feel safe. Your home is shelter from bad things. I feel safe at home because every night, the bedroom door stays open, and I can always hear the sound of my dad washing the dishes. I have my stuffies to stay with me when I’m scared or sad. I think home is not just a physical place, but it is where you can feel things like relaxation and comfort. I think home is the most important place in your whole life. You can have playdates, parties, you can do everything! You can be home when you are uncomfortable or sad, and you can go home after school. So, now do you think home is the same as a house? A house is just a place to live in. A home is where you can do almost everything you like! To me, home means “h” for happiness, “o” for outstanding, “m” for magnificent, and “e” for endearing. That is what home means to me.
