What Home Means To Me

Home is more than just a shelter. But a place where you feel comfortable and accepted. A place where you can let go of all your feelings. A place where you feel free and do whatever you want. You can lay in the folds of your blanket, sip hot cocoa while chatting with your family and friends, and a place where you can watch the snow fall as slow as a turtle walking across the beach. You can sleep for hours on end, talk to your family at the dinner table while eating delicious home-cooked food. Home is not just a place or building, it is where most of your memories are made. Where you are supported. Where you smell the best of smells and taste the best of tastes. Home is where you can see children gleefully playing in the playground, Where you can see dogs walk and birds fly, and where you can smell the fresh earthy smell of the mud after it rains, or the smell of snacks at the local shop. Home can also be a nation, a community, or a village filled with people. Home is where you also meet all kinds of people. At home you see your loving and caring mom, your hard-working and diligent father, your brother, sister, or cousins. All these people make home feel less bland and less just like a resting place. They make it feel like a small community that’s always here to support you and care for you anytime you need help.
