Home is Special

Home isn't just a place, a building or a normal house. Home is like the feeling of a warm giant hug wrapped around me. Where all your family is there to support and help you. Home is where my heart feels happy and safe, where I belong. It's where I create the best memories that will always have a special place in my heart. Where I have all the pictures hung up on my wall with all the adventures we have been through and captured. Pictures of when my siblings and I were just little babies until now. Home is like the smell of my kitchen where delicious meals come from. My kitchen is where we all sit at the dinner table and come together to tell stories about our day. We talk about all of the ups and downs, while knowing we won't be judged. My kitchen is where I do all my baking with my mom. It's where all our bonds grow bigger, stronger. On special occasions, the smell of the turkey for thanksgiving and buttery potatoes on Christmas. My living room is where we mostly watch sports, and make laughter out of everything. It's where I can lay down if I ever feel down. My living room is the feeling of where on a snowy night, I can sit up and watch a movie with my family and feel warm. My bedroom is where I can sit if I want to be all alone. My bedroom is where I look forward to going when it's time to go to bed, because I know there is a soft warm bed all to myself. My bedroom is where I can swing on my swing and read in complete silence. It's where I can smell my own favourite candles when I light them. So you see, home isn't just a building, it's a place where I feel welcomed. Where I open the door each night after I go play hockey, to my home with my personal belongings and family. It's a place where my style is. It's our own type of creation, it's different from all the other homes. It's my family's own special home. My home feels good to leave but even better to come back.
