Home

Home. It is one of the most powerful words that you will ever hear. But home isn’t just a physical building where you live. It is where you grow up, create both good and bad memories, is a sanctuary when you need to contemplate, and is a place where traditions are started, shared, and passed on. It is essential for a good life, which is why everyone should have one. Home is a sanctuary, away from the chaos that is the outside world. When the outside world blows its bellowing winds, shakes its unstable ground, and surrounds you with the cheerless emotions of sadness, bitterness, and pessimism about the world, home is there. It will envelop you like a soft blanket, shutting out any bad elements that could hurt you in any way. But home isn’t just a building. A quote from Cecelia Ahern says, "Home is not a place…it's a feeling." Home is a place to grow, where critical skills that you will need in life are learned. Home teaches you the basics of life, from when you were little. Home teaches you how to love and be loved. It teaches you different emotions, like compassion and sympathy, but also others, like anger, anxiety, and fear. Nevertheless, all of these are important in their own distinct way in all of life. It helps us build character, for when challenges arise. One of the best teachers in your life to help you go forward is your family. Family is a core factor in all of your life, no matter what. Some of the greatest memories that I have made are with my family. Every year, me and my family go to galaxyland during the Hallowe’en season. Some of my favourite rides are Space Shot and Swings of the Century. To think, without my family none of those memories, opinions, and experiences would have happened. The favourite memories that I have, though, are the traditions and holidays that me and my family create or celebrate. Personally, my favourite holidays are Christmas, Easter, and All Hallow’s Eve (Halloween.) These traditions are passed down, saved, and cherished through generation to generation. During Christmas, my family has a little Christmas Countdown that we use every year. I don’t know when we got it, but over the years it has become a staple of Christmastime for us. So home isn’t just four walls and a roof. It can be many different things, from your own house where you live, to a basketball court, perhaps, where you can forget about the world and just be yourself. A home has many important things, some of which are that it is a sanctuary, away from the chaotic outside world. It is a place to grow, where you can learn all you need to know to progress in life. It could also feature family and friends, to create cherished memories and long-lasting traditions. The list goes on! A home is the most important thing in your life, and everyone needs one.
