My home

A place I’ve known since I was born, And our relationship will never be torn, It protects me from all the thorns. My Home It is where my family comes together in harmony, It always made me grow like a tree, And it always stood there for me. My Home It guards me every day and night, It taught me how to do things right, Being in there makes me confident and bright. My Home A place filled with memories, Like a box full of precious diamonds and rubies, It helps me unlock life’s mysteries. My Home It is a place where we all have fun, It made me shine like the sun, And it is a place to spend time with my loved ones. My Home When my mom cooks Indian and Sri Lankan cuisine, It makes me think where my parents had been, And the totally different life they have seen. My Home My parents came to Canada cutting their roots and their stem, Bringing their culture and traditions with them, And made a home for me and them, which is like a precious gem. My Home For me, it is the best place in the universe, I truly felt it by heart, that’s why I wrote the previous verse, It is where my culture starts and grows diverse. My Home Thank You Note I wrote this as a dedication with all my appreciation, for my home, Habitat for Humanity, and the people who struggle from different situations without a home in Canada and around the world.
