Home
Home is not just a roof over my head, it is the smell of Sri Lankan food filling the air with a rich aroma. It’s the feeling of a warm blanket covering my body as a daze in a sea of thoughts.
To me, coming home to eat is not just to satisfy my hunger, but the stories we share about when my parents were back in Sri Lanka. Whenever me and my sister play games it’s never about winning but the laughs that seal life long memories that motivate me to keep a bright smile everyday.
When I look out a window in my home, I don’t just see the bright scenery, I see my inspiring future ahead of me. When I take apart stuff with my Dad , it’s not just doing work around the house, it’s joy with every bolt and screw.
In the winter I snuggle up in my bed, while snow pours down above me. To me, home is like my very own barrier from the outside world, shielding me from whatever life decides to throw at me. When I am down or mad, home is like my own comfort place, and it works better than anything else.
When I first moved into my new apartment, I was a bit nervous. I didn’t know if I could get used to the new environment, but to my surprise I actually got used to it really fast and I am now at this amazing school called Calderstone Middle School.
