Home Is Where I Find My Happiness

Most people think home is just bricks and buildings put together, but really home means so much more than just that. Home is where I find the people who make me feel accepted, safe, and the people that make me laugh even when I’m in a bad mood. Home is where I build memories and happiness. Home is also where I walk through the door feeling calm because I know I am loved. Home for me is where my parents support me while I am playing basketball. They are the people that make me want to continue to play my sport. For me, every place in my house has a special place in my heart, like, the dining table, where we eat while reflecting on silly moments of the past, the kitchen where I help my mom bake and cook, and even the living room, where me and my family do movie nights while eating popcorn. Home doesn’t need to be family though, It can also be the people you see every day at school, like friends who support me and make me feel like I belong. Home is anywhere you be yourself without feeling judged, and where you feel comfortable being who you are. In the end home isn’t just a place you live in. Home is the people, the memories and the love that surrounds me. Home is where I feel safe, supported, and happy. That is why home will always mean more to me than just a building.
