What Home Means to Me

What Home Means to Me Written by: Danyaal Karim- Grade 6 Home is where one feels secure and welcomed. When people are at home, they will do their favorite hobbies such as reading, writing, or spending time with their family. A home does not necessarily mean a house, it also means where you feel very safe, loved, and are never rejected by whom is with you in that place. A home is the most favorite place to return to. When you are sad or mad or any kind of emotion, your home is where you cure that emotion. Your place of reset, where you can re-center to be yourself again and start doing what you love and be who you are. As you get older, your home will feel like somewhere you can always return to, no matter where your life takes you. It is your safe zone when you are struggling both mentally or physically. A home is made of laughter, love, and support. It’s where you make memories as you grow. It’s where you live and, at some point, leave, but you will always know it’s a place to return to. It is a privilege to have a home, as anyone can have a house. I hope everyone has a home, or finds a place to call their own!
