Home and Love

Home is not four walls and a roof-it’s way more. It’s Daddy’s cooking and Mama’s baking. It’s my brother Henry laughing, markers squeaking, pens scratching. The lights set too bright till we dim them. It’s the couch we sit on every friday for movie night. The pizza we cook together, and so much more. Home is love. The love for my stuffies, my family, my books. Love for dogs, friends-just to name a few. Home to me is love, and it can be anywhere-as long as I have the people I love. Home is community. It’s my school, my friends' houses, bookstores, libraries, Blue Jays games, dog parks, and so much more. I am so lucky to have multiple homes.I have my school home, with my teachers and friends. I have my book home, with Sophie Foster from Keeper of the Lost City, Hermione Granger from Harry Potter, Katniss Everdeen from The Hunger Games, Alyce from Alice with a why and many more. Home is way more than four walls and a roof-it’s love.
