Home in Vignettes

As the bright yellow sun rises to the sky, before the snow starts to float around, I dance through water that stops my shivers, for there are jets that shoot out heated water that brings me back to summer time. Nearby a white building As creamy colored as the snow, holds a restaurant with dim light that matches the evening sky. As night turns to morning, while the sun leans through the clouds, I rush out of bed and sniff in the morning sea breeze. A few minutes later I'm skipping and twirling across the sand, leaving footprints behind. As I run through the waves my smile turns into a grin and that grin into a beam, as bright as the sun. Soon enough I'm beside the mini oceans full of urchins and sea stars surrounded with rocks. I look up above me where a huge rock looms over the sand. When you push past the door it feels like you're walking into a parallel world. You can hear chattering kids and pages of books being flipped around. Soon that welcoming smell of new books wafts into your nose, drawing you closer. Though children are talking away like it's an amusement park, you're still able to focus on your book. Like a mini shopping mall, with bustling people and multiple shops. Though in a few stores some of which are overlooked, lies a cozy and peaceful space. In a little store with shelves and tables full of books, with an old washed out looking sign, I know exactly where to go. I scan the shelves like I have x-ray goggles until I find something that appeals. The spine is smooth and soft and the page bends in my hands. though in a different store, a different feeling is there. It has bright colors and pride flags scattered around. I see mouth watering cookies with flavors from apple pie, to Mini Eggs. The labels are carefully drawn with different fonts, colors and little drawings. Later, I'm waiting for the green light. I imagine some of my favorite snacks, the ones I'm getting closer and closer to by the step. Once I push open the door I'm greeted by the sound of little scoops shoveling up flour and chips, and some scratching of pens writing on little paper bags. Soon enough that's me, filling my bag to the brim with goodies.
