Home to Me
If home during the winter were the five senses, it would be the smell of hot chocolate with marshmallows that grandma makes. It would be the smell of cookies that Santa eats. It would be seeing my family opening Christmas presents. It would be hearing my family saying thank you for the Christmas presents. I would feel the joy of people on Christmas day and any other day in winter.
If home during the spring were the five senses, it would be the smell of flowers and the smell of rain. It would be the taste of honey. It would be the birds chirping in the breeze. It would be the bees getting pollen from dandelions and daisies. It would be the breeze going across my face.
If home during the summer had a smell, it would be the smell of chlorine. It would be the taste of popsicles when I am playing with my neighbors. It would be my sister and I playing around in the pool. It would be the joy of playing outside with my neighbors. It would be the happiness of my family swimming and chilling.
If home during the fall at home was a smell, it would be the smell of leaves when I’m playing in the piles. It would be the taste of Halloween candy and pumpkin pie on thanksgiving with my family. It is people saying, “Trick or Treat”, seeing costumes and people saying they like my costume.
My home is like a warm blanket on a cold snowy night. My wish is that people can have a home to be safe.
