My Wonderful Home

Home. Is it just a place to live? Or so I thought. When I was five, I moved from China to a place I had never been before. It felt strange. From then on, I searched for the old parks I’ve always been, the restaurants I’ve always loved. I didn’t understand why I had to come to a different place and live a completely different life. To me, home is a place where I feel welcomed, accepted, and comfortable. I can freely attempt things and make mistakes. It’s a place where I can enjoy cultural dishes with my family, play games with my siblings, and do many more things. Home is the most important place. No matter where I am or how old I get, I will never forget home because it’s the place where I grew up and learned all the things I know today. To me, home means so much more than anything else. It doesn’t just mean a specific location, it’s where the soul of my family and familiar objects are carried. To me, home is about the people inside. My family guided me through all my challenges were the only ones there when I was at my lows. They are the ones I truly trust. Home is wherever my family is. They had helped me learn and improve since I was just a toddler. Family and home are the most important things in my life. It’s important to be appreciative that I get to have a home where my family loves me. Many people around the world don’t get to have homes due to lack of money. We need to have empathy and care about others. Thank you Habitat for Humanity for helping me to truly understand the meaning and importance of home.
