A Home isn't A House

“What’s the meaning of home to me you ask?” The meaning of home to me is a big warm hug, where we cherish the most wonderful memories together, and where my family grows in love and laughter. A home is a feeling where you're safe and loved and much more. My bed is where I lay to rest when times are not the best. Me and my dogs play together while my moms cooking fills the air. My living room is where we play games together and laugh over shows, and have a movie night almost every Friday. My kitchen is where we all gather around the dinner table waiting patiently for the delightful food, every Friday we will get some very yummy takeout. I have realized that my home is way more than just a house, my home is a shelter that has a feeling, a place in my heart, what I'm proud of and what I'm not. In my home I feel like I belong, we celebrate holidays in my home and share traditions together and that's what family is for. A house is much less than a home, a house is a structure in an unfamiliar place you feel unsettled, a house is made from walls and beams, a home is made of love and dreams. And that's what makes my home special to me.
