An Answer

What is a home? What counts as a home? A building you live in, or a place you love? My teacher asked me a similar question a few years ago. I answered, and she said, “Well done.” I had answered, “A building you live in.” Obviously, I had thought. But now, when I look back, I think, “Am I still sure?” I’ve lived in two houses. But for one, I’ve spent more time in them. I live in it right now. So does that mean, I was right? My room, my stuff, my books are all there. But is my heart there? As I’ve grown, I think about this question more and more and more. And finally, I have an answer. My home isn’t just made of bricks, And walls And stairs. My home is what it is because of my family. Their laughter, joy, and jokes. Their love, perseverance and hard work. And now I finally appreciate what they gave me. An answer.
