Meaning of Home

Home - a remarkable word which has the capability of holding someone’s world within. Unlike house, which is just bricks and concrete, home has an aura like no other, a joyous place where memories are born, long-lasting bonds are made, and you feel loved, valued, protected, and can be just yourself. Home is a place which gives me warmth, comfort, strength to never give up.Home connotes family to me where I have my mom always pushing me to be the best version of myself, my dad who is my guide, my go-to person for cars, tech and Science(phew! you can’t expect parents to not care about academics, cue pep talks). He is also the one who doesn’t let go of any opportunity to tease me playfully. Last, but not least, comes the most precious and lively person-my little sister (a.k.a queen of the house) who loves me, makes me laugh and is there for me when I most need it. All together, our home, is our happy place where we laugh, we watch movies, have family game nights, make vacation plans and we always have each other’s backs.Within this larger family space, my own room is my personal haven where I can visualize blindfolded about my sports posters, wall art, and my mini basketball hoop along with my never-ending novel collection, and pictures of myself with my sister. Lastly, I think about the convenience of having a corner home right across from the park, where we have the leverage of having long and at times unplanned “play dates” which gives my friends, a secure home for them should they ever need help where they will always be welcomed. It will always be a sanctuary, where I feel at tranquility, a pious place which will always be special to me.
