Home is Like a Puzzle

Home is like a puzzle. Imagine having all the pieces except for one, then it wouldn’t be complete. Home is a beautiful thing, and so are puzzles, if all the pieces connect into an intricate, beautiful image. The very first puzzle piece is a house, and this is a very large piece. Although some people look at a house and think it’s just a solid, concrete building, it can mean so much more. A house symbolizes a journey filled with effort, an accomplishment or achievement, maybe even a financial fight. Every family will struggle, and those struggles vary from family to family. A house will always be one of the strongest puzzle pieces, so it will always symbolize perseverance. The next piece is the in the center, the heart of the puzzle- which is a family. A family makes memories and feels love, no matter how difficult things are. The people in your family are always there for you with support, no matter what. A family usually starts small, like a seed, then it sprouts and grows new connections and affection, which hold the plant up and make it strong with fierce passion and emotions. Another piece wraps around family. This piece is culture. Culture can mean several things, for instance, food. Food ties all the way back to your origin. To me it’s being Canadian and eating a delicious poutine splattered in gravy and cheese curds. It’s being German, curling up beside my mother and snacking on Pfeffernusse cookies. Just remember, everyone’s puzzles may look different from your own. Thank you, Habitat for Humanity, for blessing so many puzzles with a house. In the end, all these piece’s matter, and all come together to create one beautiful picture… and that’s home.
