Home For All Seasons

During summer, our days at home are busy and long, Even though it’s tiring, being at home keeps us strong, There’s much to do and people to meet, We can’t wait to get home, to beat the heat. As fall begins, our days become slower. Our busy days are over. We go to school and then come back. We can’t wait to relax and have a snack. The trees near our home put on their best colours, bold and warm; Home is our safe place during the storms. We start to put on our jackets as we go outside. Home is always warm inside. When winter comes, our days are empty and short, But when we’re at home, our hearts feel full in the warmth, Our days are filled with games and laughter, And homemade hot chocolate always comes right after. My brother and I play in the snow (and might make a mess), But when we wrap up and go back home, there are no regrets. We gather with family to celebrate Christmas. We pray together and have delicious dishes. As spring starts, our days become bustling; We get back to work and start hustling. For us, spring means new dawns; We celebrate Easter and right our wrongs. Seasons will always change, But home will always feel the same. Home is a feeling of its own, Where there is family, and our emotions are known. Through these seasons, through all that's occurred, What ‘home’ feels like cannot be described in words. We make memories at home, a story to be told, Home will never change, even as we grow old.
