HOME IS . . .

Home is family. I see my sister making a blanket out of macramé and her love for water colouring, and my brother skating on our rink. My dad making steak in his smoker. My mom having a warm cup of coffee and reading a book in her favourite chair. And in the winter me, my sister, and my brother play fox and goose we all get cold so we go inside to a crackling fire and a cup of hot cocoa. I hear the timer going on the oven and music playing softly. Home is rest. It feels like a warm, safe, and a comforting place and all the people in my home are caring. In the summer, I lay on our loungers reading and making bracelets. I hear the birds chirping and the nice breeze, with the hot sun in my face. Home is food. It smells like yummy treats that my mom loves to bake and I taste my sisters delicious cinnamon buns, baked with love and care. I also smell my dads smoked meat wafting in the air. Thank you to Habitat for Humanity for all the hope and joy you bring to families by building homes.
