I carry home in my heart!

I carry home in my heart, not bricks nor doors but breath. It reminds my of my dog sleeping on the floort, Of the warm lamps and TV going, Of the stove smelling of the diner. It is the echo of my family spoken gently in every room. Home is a bed that remembers me, a window learning my shadow, a clock forgiving my early and lateness. I walk through places and seasons, Summer, spring, autumn and winter Yet this wonderful home keeps my life intact. When I am broken, it shelters me. When I am brave, it opens wider. It holds my life like stars, My future is like inside my home. Even in saddness, even in silence, I lay my head inside its warm walls, and sleep without locking the door. Each beat remembers where I began, and teaches me where to return.
