Home What Is It?

Home, it's not just a place with walls and a roof. The countless memories in one place, the laughter shared in every room, and people visiting from afar, all make home feel like a safe environment. Home is a feeling you get when you come home from a long day at school and are greeted by your dog and family. Coming home to the smell of home cooked meals being prepared makes me feel grateful. The smell of scented candles being lit and the freshly baked cookies in the oven during Christmas, makes me feel cozy. Home is measuring and recording your height on the wall after every birthday and seeing how much you have grown or looking at the pictures on the wall, remind us of the times we’ve spent together. Home is the sound of dice hitting a board while playing a board game and the sound of conversations at the dinner table. Home, it's not just a place, it's a feeling. The feeling of comfort when knowing you can be yourself. Dancing freely, using a loud voice and being silly, makes me feel comfortable and loved, at your cousins house or grandparents house. My home builds my confidence and helps me overcome challenges. Home never leaves it stays with you.
