The Feeling of Home

The feeling of home is a magical thing Sometimes, it feels like you’re the king! To me, Home is never just a building. It’s not for the city, it’s not a filling Home is a place to feel safe and welcome Anywhere in the world, Canada, China, or Belgium. It’s where you make memories with friends and family. It could also be a fantasy. It’s where you smell the curry boiling in a pot, Or when you're sitting in your cozy spot. It’s the place where you can always be you And anyone else can too! It’s a cozy spot for hugs and cuddles If there is someone who struggles A place where you’re surrounded by people who love you Especially if you’re feeling blue. At home, I am safe and sound There is love everywhere around We are lucky to have a home, And not just sleeping on a pile of foam We are lucky to have love around us, We are lucky that we are able to ride a bus We are lucky to have the feeling of home To have space to walk around and roam. So never take a home for granted, Because it’s never just a building that was planted.
