What home means to me
Home is not just a building with a roof and doors; It is where I feel safe and don't have to “be” anything but myself. It is a giant treasure chest filled with all my favorite memories. When I walk through the front door, I smell my mom's delicious cooking that fills the living room. When we sit down to eat, we share all about our day or discuss the things we like. There is this special feeling at home that makes all my worries about school float away.
In my room, the walls have watched me grow from a little kid to who I am now. I remember when I used to measure my height against the wall and get excited because I had grown an inch. Every scratch on the floor or stain on the wall tells a story, like the time we had a huge pillow fight or when I accidentally spilled juice while laughing at a joke.
Home is where my family is always waiting to give me a big hug and listen to my day. We sit at the table and talk about everything, and it makes me feel like I am part of a team. Even when it's raining outside, and the thunder is loud, I don't feel scared because my home is like a big warm blanket wrapped around me, protecting me. No matter where I go or when I grow up, I will always remember the fun times in these walls. My home will always have a place in my heart
Habitat for Humanity isn’t just building homes; they are planting seeds of hope, stability, and a future where every child feels the same warmth and security that I do when I walk through my front door.
