Not my house, but my home

It’s not the architecture of these walls and lights, nor how those shiny displays and decorations shine in the sunlight, nor the appliances that are modern and cool, nor the beautiful surroundings my house has. It’s my home, the place where walls have watched me and my family grow, where sweet smiles and fun would always be waiting for me once I open a door. The living room, full of my brother’s toy cars and guns, but also laughter, tender love and comfort at home. All those pictures and art? They’re the wonderful moments and masterpieces we’ve made! There’s never a dull moment whenever we’re there. And in the kitchen, the smell and sizzling of Filipino food that would soon arrive at the table at any moment, praying to God for the blessings He’s given before eating those delicious meals two great cooks have cooked; my parents. In bedtime, there are stories and prayers spoken before the silence starts. Hugging and kissing each other as we sleep with smiles on our faces with great dreams that can possibly come true someday. It’s a home, a place everyone needs. I thank Habitat for Humanity for helping people to find the true meaning of a home, and making the world have a greater future, and become a better place.
