Home Is Where My Heart Feels Free

Home is not just a place on the map It is more than a house or a little gap Home is the place where I belong Where people know me all day long Home is where I feel safe and heard Even when my feelings come out in a blur Sometimes we get mad and argue too We might say things we do not mean to do But after the noise and after the fuss Home still brings comfort to all of us At home we laugh and have fun times We tell silly jokes and make up rhymes Sometimes we are loud and sometimes quiet Sometimes the house feels calm like a soft diet Home is where I can be myself I do not have to pretend or hide on a shelf Home is where help is always near When I feel sad, scared, or full of fear Home feels like arms wrapped tight around me Keeping me safe like I want to be Home is like warm tea on a cold day It makes my worries fade away Home is where stories are shared at night Where dreams feel close and sleep feels right Home is peace even on gray days When the sun is gone and skies look dull and gray Home is love in many small ways In words, in hugs, in quiet stays Home is not perfect, but it is true Home is the place that helps me through Home is where my heart feels free Home is where I am happy to be
