There’s no Place like Home

The difference between a house and a home is that a house is just a building on the street. A home is where you live and play with family. It gives you safety and makes you feel safe. A home is a place that gives you shelter, when a house doesn’t. A home is bright, full of life and filled with happiness. Home means playing and joking around with my sisters, its learning piano beside my mom. It’s the sound of a vacuum and a broom every Sunday afternoon. It’s a place to play and have fun, to make memories which I'll never forget. Home is where I learn, play and have fun with my family. The thing that makes my home special is the big garden with all sorts of things like flowers and vegetables. What also makes my home special is the smell of my mom’s mushroom soup that she makes every Friday. It’s the plants that have been there since I was born and the very worn out stuffy animal. It’s the sound of my sister’s laughter and the sound of the piano. My favourite place in my home is the living room where I can read and play with my family. A carpet that has the ABC’s spreads across the floor where we read together. There’s a banner that has my footprints and my sisters footprints on it is on a shelf. It was when we were little. There’s also a section with the best family pictures and it reminds me of when I was little. It makes me feel safe and happy with the people I love. One moment I will always remember was in the bathroom one night, when my sisters were about 1 or 2 years old. I was like 5 and me and my parents were watching my sisters. One of them was holding a toothbrush and trying to brush my other sisters teeth. The other one was holding a milk bottle and trying to make the other one drink milk. I was laughing so hard I was rolling on the floor. My parents were holding a camera and taking a video while laughing. I will never forget that funny moment. I love my home and all the memories I share with my family. There truly is no place like my home!
