What home means to me
For me, Home has never been just a building. It’s never been on a street or even in a town. Home has never been a collection of items, toys or furniture. Home is Love, it is Family, and it is Security.
Love is what makes me feel at home. All the snuggles in the morning from my loved ones. My dog barks out the window when she sees me walking towards my house, and my cat waiting for me to get home on the couch. The home cooked dinners made with love every night. With these people, and with this love, I know I’m home.
Family is where I feel like I belong. My family is full of laughter, and spending time together. On Friday nights, my family and I have a movie night. We order pizza, and snuggle in for a movie on the couch. On Saturday night, my family and I have a board game night. We order sushi and then play board games. With my family, wherever I am, I will always be home.
Home is that feeling where you are safe, and warm. I feel safe when I open the door knob from coming home. My house is like a bunch of shields protecting me, on the outside. Home is the feeling where I can be safe when I get home from school.
Sadley, some familys don’t have the security, safety, and warmth that I have, these moments of beaty are overtaken. In writing this essay, it is my hope that more families will have a chance to build their own dreams. Thank you Habitat for Humanity for helping people who are in need.
