What home means to me

To me home has thousands of different definitions. The word is much more complicated than it sounds. I used to think home was just a shelter but I was wrong. Just think about it, would a home with no family feel right? I also used to think that the best home was the home that was the fanciest and biggest with the most priceless items inside. But the best home is the home with the most joy, laughter, peace and fun. A home isn’t just where you live, it's where you feel most confident, comfortable, happy and loved. Home is the place where you are the most welcomed and where you always have someone to cheer you up after a day that didn’t go quite how you wanted it to. Home is a place where you keep all of your memories in pictures and objects. Home is the place you feel like you belong. Most importantly home is where you live with your family. When I wake up in my home I rush downstairs. I look forward to mornings there, always so pleasant. After school me and my brother play together while my mom makes dinner. When she's done we all enjoy eating together while having a conversation to end the day. For a just world to exist, everyone must have a true home. Not only a physical shelter but a true home. The world would be a much better place if everyone had a home where they feel welcome. That's why I'm glad Habitat for Humanity is trying to achieve that goal.
