Meaning of Home

Home is more than just a building with walls,floors,doors and windows. To me, home is the place where I feel safe,loved,and completely myself. When I walk inside after a long day, I can feel the stress leave my body, like I've stepped into a warm and familiar blanket. The smell of dinner cooking, the people talking, or even the quiet of my own room makes me feel like everything is okay again. Home is full of little things that might seem normal to others but mean a lot to me. It's the worn out couch where my family watches movies together, the fridge covered in drawings and old photos, and the one floorboard that always squeaks no matter how slowly you try to step on it. These small things make the house feel alive, like it remembers every moment we've ever had. It's also where memories live, birthdays, parties with loud music, arguments that didn't last long, and nights when we stayed up talking about anything and everything. All of these moments stick to the walls in a way you can't see, but you can feel. Home doesn't have to be perfect, and it doesn't always have to be fancy either. What matters is that it's the place where you feel calm and understood. For me I haven't lived in just one house my whole life. I have moved to many places that eventually developed to become a home. Moving is definitely a big change and can be scary, but it's never the house you're leaving, it's what makes it feel like a home that you're leaving. You can always have more than one home and even if it just looks like a house it could always eventually be your home. To me, home is not just a place. It's a feeling. It's where the people I care about are, and where I know I will always be welcomed, no matter what kind of day I had. This is what makes a home so special. Everyone has different things they love about home,memories,family members,pets,and feelings. Those can all make a house feel like they're home. When you walk into a friend's house or someone you know, it might just feel like another house to you, when in their perspective it's something extremely special. Home should be a place you feel safe and loved, whether it's a place or not. To me, home is so important and special.
