Home
A lot of people would say that your home is where you live, and for most people it is. But that isn’t always the case. For example, I have lived in my house my entire life and yes, to me it is home, but only because my family is there.
I have so many cherished memories that have taken place in my living room, in the kitchen, in the backyard. From doing just dance with my sisters and failing miserably, to cutting up bananas for my mom in case she was hungry when she got home from her meetings. But those memories aren’t always good, sometimes they are painful and sad, like when my parents had to tell me our pet had died. However, no matter what those memories contain, they help build up your belief of what home is.
It’s with your loved ones.
It’s where you feel at peace
It’s where you have personal growth
It’s where you feel safe and comfortable.
It’s where you can be true to yourself and don’t have to worry about anyone else judging you.
It’s someplace where you feel comfortable laughing and crying because you’re only human. I love my home because it brings me warmth and stability to a never ending busy lifestyle. It’s the comfort in my darkest times. I remember waking up one morning with this feeling of peace because I had a place, I could flourish in. Ultimately, that’s personally what I believe home should be for everyone.
And well it’s slightly different for everybody, and it can never be perfect, it’s that love and respect that all holds one belief in common.
Home is where the heart is.
