This Is My Home

A home isn't just four walls and a triangle roof. Home means staying up with family and friends until 12am on New Years with treats and snacks that get finished in minutes, and sounds of greetings all around the house with smiles on everyone's faces having fun counting down until the New Year screaming “ HAPPY NEW YEAR!!” echoes around our home. Home celebrations feel like arriving at a family's house with greetings by the Christmas tree you’ve never seen before with lights overpowering your eyes. Home feels like waking up and jumping out of bed on the day of your birthday because you are so excited for unique gifts that are packaged up with paper that family and friends wrapped. Home feels like love, care, and kindness is trapped in every corner and room in our home. Home also means having sleepovers with close friends, and instead of sleeping our parents hear loud laughter t, and movies getting finished every hour, soon to be memories. Home means spending time with family and friends on holidays. On Easter I'm watching tv and all of a sudden the Easter Bunny and I scream with joy and run to the eggs filled with delicious chocolate and I try picking up all the eggs but my siblings get more than me. Home means celebrating different holidays. My Grandma comes over on russian easter and brings eggs with a plastic cover of our tradition, with a cake that has raisins and white icing sparkling on the cake and colorful sprinkles covering the icing. Everyone's mouths water at the sight of her carrying the cake to the kitchen This is my home.
